When a narrow wavelength radiation shoots on the coating surface, part of the radiation is reflected and the remained part transmitted. This coating always shows the high reflectance for S-polarization radiation and high transmittance for P-polarization radiation. The main application of this coating is to produce a beam splitter with an incident angle of 45 degree. The non-polarizing beam splitting plates and cubes that are shown in beamsplitter chapter are coated with this kind of coating.
