Meniscus Lenses

Meniscus lenses are convex-concave lenses. They have one outward curved face and one inward-curved face. If the outward curve is sharper than the inward curve, the lens has a negative focal length and acts as a reducing lens. The Positive Meniscus Lens can increase the NA of the system while only adding slightly to the total spherical aberrations. The Negative Meniscus Lens is used to increase the focal length of another lens while maintaining the angular resolution of the optical assembly. This lens shape is best used when one conjugate is relatively far from the lens. As well as, Meniscus lenses are used in applications to reduce beam distortion. They are used on focusing light beam in telescopes, collimators or condenser systems, optical transceivers or other applications.

We provide a large variety kinds of specifications according to clients’ request or Personalized customization for precision grade Meniscus lenses with tighter tolerances . Our Meniscus lenses are available in a range of coating or substrate options. Anti-reflection coatings range from the Ultraviolet (UV) to the Infrared (IR).
